This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the primary technical authority for generator controls and excitation system applications.
• Develop engineering standards, best practices, and technical rigor throughout projects.
• Guide and mentor engineers by providing technical expertise.
• Facilitate technical reviews, design discussions, and investigations into root causes.
• Address significant technical challenges across development, manufacturing, commissioning, and field operations.
• Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of complex engineering projects.
• Define the scope, objectives, risks, and technical deliverables of projects.
• Ensure project alignment with scope, timeline, budget, and quality standards.
• Assist with quoting, planning, and evaluating project risks.
• Promote accountability and effective communication among cross-functional teams.
• Lead Customer Witness Tests and assist with Site Acceptance Tests.
• Offer troubleshooting support for installation, commissioning, and operational concerns.
• Analyze field data and suggest corrective measures.
• Deliver both remote and on-site support to customers.
• Enhance engineering tools, processes, product quality, and execution efficiency.
• Collaborate with NPI, quality, and cross-functional teams on continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assess and integrate new technologies, methods, and design strategies.
• Provide technical input to product strategy.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards, design practices, and engineering processes.
• Conduct design reviews and support compliance with technical and quality standards.
• Monitor quality and performance metrics.
• Advocate for technical excellence, safety, and ongoing improvement.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Over 6 years of engineering experience in generator controls, excitation systems, power systems, or related industrial applications.
• Proven track record in a technical leadership, lead engineering, or project management role.
• Successful history of delivering complex engineering projects in cross-functional settings.
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
• Extensive knowledge of generator controls, excitation systems, and power electronics.
• Familiarity with potential source, bus-fed, brushless, DC rotating, and compound excitation systems.
• Experience with control systems and platforms from GE, Emerson, ABB, Rockwell, Siemens, Brush, Reivax, Alstom, and similar providers.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities related to installation, commissioning, and field performance.
• Understanding of the integration of electrical and mechanical control systems.
• A Bachelor's degree is mandatory; a Master's degree is preferred.
