Lead Full-Stack Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Design and spearhead the architecture of contemporary, scalable full-stack applications.

• Offer technical direction, conduct code reviews, and provide mentorship to junior engineers.

• Guide the integration of AI-driven features into both existing and new applications.

• Collaborate with product and business stakeholders to ensure engineering solutions align with business goals.

• Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of innovative greenfield full-stack applications.

• Propel modernization initiatives by migrating and redesigning legacy applications using Flask/Next.js.

• Collaborate with the data engineering team to enhance ETL pipelines.

• Assist in the maintenance, enhancements, and upgrades of assigned applications.

• Serve as a technical escalation point for production-related issues.

• Supervise and enhance the performance, reliability, and maintainability of core applications.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.

• 4+ years of experience in full-stack software engineering.

• Demonstrated experience in leading the design and development of production-grade web applications utilizing Flask, React, and Next.js.

• Familiarity with GenAI coding tools such as Claude Code and Cursor, both with and without their use.

• Strong expertise in SQL design, Postgres, performance tuning, and Azure-based services, including AI-powered features.

• Knowledge of Application Security – Intra and SD elements.

• Experience in mentoring and nurturing the development of engineers.

• Preferred: Proficiency in Agentic development, AI Automation, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD practices.

• Preferred: Background in Python, Databricks, and cloud-native architecture.

• Preferred: Experience in designing and deploying AI-driven features in commercial applications.

• Preferred: Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, particularly in commercial or MedTech environments.
