This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +7 more states.
• Provide expert field-based leadership to a designated geographical team of Family Support Educators.
• Direct a team of FSEs, ensuring effective education on disease state, products, and ongoing therapy management.
• Spearhead strategic and tactical initiatives.
• Act as the primary escalation point for FSE issues and the main contact for Regional Directors, National Sales Director, AIR team, MSL team, and Case Management/Hub leadership.
• Guide internal teams across sales, Hub Leadership, and other commercial functions to achieve shared objectives.
• Offer expert insights to training, marketing, advocacy, medical, and leadership stakeholders to create tools and resources addressing educational gaps and therapy management strategies.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of disease state, product, and Acadia Customer Support Programs, which include Hub-related and Patient Assistance Programs and ambassador speaker programs.
• Build relationships with local, regional, and national advocacy groups.
• Assess education messaging needs and formulate compliant plans, overseeing cross-functional execution.
• Work in collaboration with the Rare Disease National Director on FSE training and onboarding, Patient Support Services initiatives, FSE team development, and performance metrics.
• Cultivate and mentor team members.
• Supervise and guide hiring, performance management, promotions, and other personnel actions.
• Ensure actions adhere to Acadia policies and values.
• Bachelor’s degree and approximately eight (8) years of relevant experience in Pharmaceutical Sales, Access, National Accounts, Specialty Pharmacy, Nursing, etc., with significant experience and technical expertise related to access and reimbursement; an MBA is advantageous.
• At least three (3) years of recent leadership experience, including responsibilities for leading teams, enhancing performance, developing talent, and fulfilling organizational objectives.
• Strong preference for experience in Rare Disease, new product launch, Advocacy, and Medicaid and Medicare expertise, along with a solid background and understanding of the field environment in the healthcare industry.
• Equivalent combinations of relevant education and applicable job experience may be considered.
• Proven experience in leading a team to meet organizational goals.
• Patient-centric mindset with a high degree of emotional intelligence and empathy.
• Strong preference for experience in patient/caregiver education.
• Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
• Comprehensive understanding of the market access landscape, including patient services programs and commercial/government plans.
• Demonstrated success in New Product Launch.
• Strong background and understanding of the healthcare field environment.
• Strong preference for experience in Rare Disease and Advocacy.
• Familiarity with HIPAA rules and regulations regarding patient privacy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage expenses within designated budgets.
• Adaptability and flexibility in an ever-changing environment.
• Quick learner capable of adjusting rapidly.
• Proficient in managing cross-functional communication both internally and externally among diverse customers.
• Proven history of successful cross-functional collaboration.
• Willingness to travel up to 70% of the time.
• Ability to meet third-party and additional local, state, and federal vaccination requirements for in-person field coaching, customer visits, healthcare office access, and medical congresses/conferences.
