Lead Designer, Substation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide technical drafting and design assistance to a designated group of engineers and technicians for infrastructure-related projects with minimal supervision.

• Create and develop plans for infrastructure initiatives.

• Produce precise 3D models using specified software platforms.

• Leverage expertise in design and 3D modeling to offer technical support to fellow technicians.

• Ensure adherence to company, client, and project standards and procedures.

• Collaborate effectively with engineers, technicians, and other team members.

• Employ advancing technology and AI tools to improve workflows, address challenges, and foster continuous improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• A two-year technical degree in Technical Drafting or a related field.

• Proven knowledge and experience with 3D software applications such as AutoCAD, Inventor, Bentley, Solidworks, Revit, and SketchUp.

• Familiarity with graphic design software like Adobe Photoshop.

• Capability to learn and effectively apply company, client, and project standards and procedures.

• Strong ability to collaborate and communicate within a team setting.

• A minimum of 10 years of experience related to infrastructure projects is required.

• Extensive drafting experience with layouts for substation electrical equipment, conduit design, grounding design, lighting design, lightning protection design, protection one-line diagrams, schematics, and interconnection wiring diagrams using AutoCAD.

• Comprehensive understanding of site layout logistics pertaining to substation equipment arrangements for efficient drafting and construction facilitation.

• Familiarity with MicroStation is advantageous.

• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.

• Strong organizational and communication skills to ensure timely project completion.

• Ability to work independently.

• Willingness to embrace innovation and utilize evolving technology and AI tools.

• Must possess permanent authorization to work in the United States.
