Lead Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Lead and guide a team of data engineers.

• Oversee backlog grooming, sprint planning, and prioritization for data engineering projects.

• Collaborate with business and technical leaders to implement strategic and tactical initiatives.

• Assess and explore new platforms and tools to improve the technology stack and data infrastructure.

• Design, develop, and sustain reliable data pipelines from TMS and various data sources.

• Create and implement new data structures or enhance existing ones to accommodate changing business needs.

• Guarantee data accuracy, reliability, and completeness through validation and monitoring processes.

• Develop and manage the Data Vault, Data Warehouse, and Data Marts.

• Provide key metrics to operational and business stakeholders.

• Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, executives, clients, engineers, and external vendors.

• Enhance and secure code deployments, data validation, error handling/alerting, data democratization, and modernization of technical debt.

• Engage in defining the data strategy.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree required (or equivalent experience); preference given to Business Administration, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Over 8 years of technology experience with one or more of: Amazon Relational Database Service (Aurora, MySQL), Microsoft SQL Server, Snowflake.

• Exceptional skills in SQL development and performance tuning.

• Strong proficiency in the Python programming language, along with its libraries, applications, and concepts.

• Experience working with Pandas, Streamlit, and NumPy.

• Familiarity with JSON and CSV requests.

• Proficient in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, highly adaptable, and able to take initiative in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong communication and leadership abilities.

• Experience with TMS, WMS, or other enterprise logistics platforms is highly advantageous.

• Familiarity with Data Vault 2.0 is a significant plus.

• Experience with Fivetran is a strong advantage.

• Familiarity with Azure Data Factory is an asset.

• Experience with REST API is a valuable plus.

• Familiarity with Coalesce.io is advantageous.

• Experience with YAML is a plus.

• Familiarity with Git, DevOps, and CI/CD is a strong advantage.
