This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the design, implementation, operation, and ongoing development of production data pipelines and core platform functionalities.
• Develop and enhance integrations across APIs, files, CDC and event sources, cloud services, and internal systems.
• Create standards for data modeling, orchestration, testing, data quality, observability, retries, backfills, and recovery.
• Optimize workloads in Snowflake, dbt, and Airflow/Cloud Composer for enhanced reliability, scalability, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
• Conduct technical design reviews and clarify system boundaries.
• Assist teams in making informed architectural and delivery decisions.
• Mentor engineers and bolster engineering standards through comprehensive documentation and sustainable solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering and business teams to transform evolving requirements into scalable data-platform solutions.
• Troubleshoot production issues while balancing reliability, cost, speed, and durability.
• Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools while ensuring security, validation, quality, and human accountability.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in software or data engineering, with substantial ownership of production data systems.
• Proficient in Python and SQL.
• Strong foundation in software engineering principles, including testing, code review, version control, and CI/CD.
• Familiarity with modern cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
• Experience with orchestration and transformation frameworks like Airflow/Cloud Composer and dbt, or similar technologies.
• Comprehensive understanding of data modeling, incremental processing, data quality, observability, and production recovery.
• Proven architectural judgment and experience in providing technical leadership and mentorship across teams.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity, clarify ownership, and communicate technical and business trade-offs effectively.
• Experience in Fintech or other high-stakes or regulated data environments is a plus.
• Bonus points for experience in CDC, streaming, event-driven, or high-volume integration.
• Familiarity with GCP technologies such as Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Storage is advantageous.
• Experience with metadata, lineage, semantic layers, governance, privacy, or AI-ready data platforms is a plus.
