Lead Consultant – FinOps, Cloudability

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Oversee comprehensive Cloudability implementation, optimization, and FinOps consulting projects.

• Facilitate discovery workshops to evaluate cloud infrastructures, business needs, and FinOps maturity levels.

• Create and establish billing integrations, business mappings, tagging, cost allocations, and reporting systems.

• Formulate cloud cost models, dashboards, executive reports, and actionable insights for stakeholders.

• Provide guidance to clients on governance, budgeting, forecasting, chargeback/showback, and FinOps operational frameworks.

• Enhance cost efficiency through rightsizing, reservations, savings plans, commitment management, and reduction of waste.

• Direct solution architecture, implementation, troubleshooting, and integrations with CMDB, ERP, ITSM, and BI platforms.

• Offer technical guidance and mentor consultants on best practices and configurations related to Cloudability.

• Act as a trusted advisor to customers alongside engineering, finance, procurement, and executive stakeholders.

• Deliver project updates, optimization possibilities, and strategic advice to business and technology leaders.

• Assist in pre-sales activities through demonstrations, RFP responses, solution design, and effort estimation.

• Enhance FinOps consulting methodologies, delivery accelerators, and practice resources.

• Keep abreast of FinOps Foundation standards, cloud pricing models, and the capabilities of Cloudability.

• Lead or support IBM ApptioOne implementations encompassing Cost Transparency, budgeting, planning, service costing, and Cloudability integration.

• Design integrated FinOps/TBM solutions that connect Cloudability and ApptioOne.

• Set up and manage Cloudability–ApptioOne data integrations to ensure accurate financial data flow and consistent reporting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• 6–10+ years of experience in IT consulting, cloud, or technology financial management.

• 3+ years of direct experience with implementing and managing Cloudability.

• Familiarity with Technology Business Management (TBM) principles and their integration with FinOps practices.

• Strong grasp of FinOps principles and Cloud Financial Management.

• Experience with billing and cost management on AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud platforms.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Strong communication and presentation skills in customer-facing roles.

• Proven experience in leading customer workshops and implementation initiatives.

• Experience with IBM ApptioOne implementation or administration is highly desirable.

• Preferred technical skills include expertise in IBM Apptio Cloudability, IBM Apptio One, TBM Taxonomy and Cost Model design, Cloudability–ApptioOne Integration, AWS CUR and/or Azure Cost Management, cloud budgeting and forecasting, SQL, Advanced Excel, Power BI or Tableau, REST APIs, and cloud billing data analysis.

• Preferred certifications include FinOps Certified Practitioner or Professional, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner/Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals/Azure Administrator, Google Associate Cloud Engineer, IBM Apptio Cloudability certifications, and IBM Apptio One Certification.
