Lead Brand Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership, maintain, and enhance ClickUp's brand design system, which includes tokens, components, patterns, and guidelines.

• Act as a quality gatekeeper by reviewing and approving creative outputs from AI tools, vibe-coded results, and external agencies.

• Develop and maintain documentation for the design system, along with templates, component libraries, and automation-friendly asset packages.

• Empower others to create on-brand work without requiring direct design assistance.

• Design and produce a high volume of web assets, including landing pages, campaign pages, and feature announcements.

• Generate impactful brand experiences such as product launches and keynote presentations.

• Evaluate and reconstruct the brand design system from existing incomplete foundations, establishing necessary documentation and structure.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in brand/visual design, with a substantial focus on owning or leading a design system.

• An outstanding portfolio that showcases expertise in typography, layout, color, motion, and systematic design thinking.

• Proficient in utilizing AI design tools (Midjourney, Firefly, Claude Design, Figma AI, etc.) and AI-assisted coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, or similar) as part of the current workflow, with basic familiarity with GitHub.

• Experience in building or adapting design systems specifically aimed at enabling high-quality AI-generated outputs at scale.

• Proven track record in creating design systems that are scalable, including templates, component libraries, and constraints that allow non-designers and AI tools to consistently produce on-brand outputs.

• Skilled in quality assurance and refinement of AI-generated design outputs; understands where AI limitations lie and how to establish effective guardrails.

• Excels as the sole designer on a team, making high-quality decisions independently while using AI and tools as force multipliers.

• Must possess legal authorization to work in the country of residence.
