Lead AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Conduct an audit of the current architecture and codebase, determining what elements remain, what requires rebuilding, and how all components integrate.

• Transform the existing system based on Cloudflare and Supabase into a well-maintained, documented codebase that adheres to clear standards and guidelines.

• Design data pipelines to ingest data from Klaviyo, Postscript, and Attentive into Supabase, encompassing modeling, storage, synchronization, and querying beyond the limitations of platform APIs.

• Build and sustain scalable engineering foundations.

• Create and deploy agents and AI skills for account diagnostics, reporting, quality assurance, go-to-market strategies, and internal operations.

• Ensure that internal AI tools are reliable and consistent for use across the team.

• Establish quality boundaries to guarantee consistent outcomes for the team.

• Develop prototype products into reliable, scalable solutions for clients.

• Manage integrations with email and SMS platforms, as well as future integrations.

• Collaborate with the founder to establish development workflows and ensure that changes are incorporated into the maintained codebase.

• Provide guidance to the founder on product feasibility, effort, and potential risks.

• Interact directly with clients to understand their challenges, adjust products accordingly, and deliver solutions.

• Set engineering standards and practices for future team members.

• Lay the foundation for the engineering function to expand beyond a single individual.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional software development experience, with a proven history of delivering products used by real users.

• Strong full-stack engineering capabilities in TypeScript and/or Python, modern backend and frontend technologies, Cloudflare, Supabase/Postgres, and SQL.

• Experience in cloud infrastructure provisioning using AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• Familiarity with CI/CD workflows.

• Practical experience in developing LLM-based systems, including agents, tool utilization, RAG, evaluations, prompt design, and skill creation.

• Proficient in building data pipelines from third-party APIs, modeling data effectively, ensuring synchronization, and performing efficient queries.

• Comfortable managing Supabase/Postgres or similar and owning data infrastructure from start to finish.

• Experience as the sole or lead engineer in a previous role.

• Ownership mentality and ability to work autonomously.

• Proactive communication skills in a remote, asynchronous environment.

• Excellent written and verbal English proficiency.

• Preferred: familiarity with Klaviyo, Postscript, Attentive, Braze, or the DTC/ecommerce ecosystem.

• Preferred: background in a fast-paced martech or retention product company.

• Preferred: experience in productizing internal tools or converting agency workflows into software.

• Preferred: knowledge of AI coding tools such as Codex or Claude Code.

• Preferred: strong product instincts and opinions on potential developments.

• Must be Brazilian and/or currently residing in Brazil, as specified in the application form.

• Advanced to fluent English language skills, as indicated in the application form.
