Law & Motion Partner – Civil Litigation Defense

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Prepare persuasive dispositive motions, motions for summary judgment, demurrers, discovery motions, motions to strike, and various other substantive court filings.

• Perform comprehensive legal research and formulate compelling arguments to tackle intricate legal issues.

• Work alongside trial attorneys to construct effective defense strategies and enhance litigation results.

• Examine pleadings, discovery materials, and case evidence to pinpoint strategic motion opportunities.

• Get ready for and present substantive motions during court hearings when suitable.

• Evaluate case developments and offer strategic recommendations throughout the litigation process.

• Assume responsibility for intricate legal writing projects that directly influence case outcomes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law institution.

• Active California Bar license in good standing.

• Must currently reside in California.

• Over 4 years of experience in civil litigation.

• Proven experience in drafting substantive motions, including summary judgment motions, demurrers, or discovery motions.

• Exceptional legal research, persuasive writing, analytical, and communication skills.

• Ability to independently oversee complex legal research and motion drafting tasks.

• Experience in insurance defense or other civil litigation defense is preferred.

• Experience in courtroom motion arguments is an advantage.
