Latam Spanish Language Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Oversee and manage the final quality of translations assigned to you.

• Utilize language assets, such as translation memories, terminology databases, and style guides.

• Occasionally undertake linguistic tasks, which may include initial translations, revisions, and the incorporation of client feedback.

• Conduct quality assessments on clinical translations, encompassing ICFs, protocols, IBs, and patient diaries.

• Create and uphold terminology and style guides specifically for Spanish Latin America.

• Ensure that translation memories for Spanish Latin America are consistently updated.

• Establish and implement linguistic quality assurance processes for the designated language on a global scale as needed.

• Employ CAT technology to oversee the quality of translations from outsourced language services and external vendors.

• Evaluate language quality challenges and collaborate with the project management team on quality enhancement strategies.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in translation, linguistics, or language studies, with substantial coursework in translation from an accredited institution.

• A Bachelor's degree in a different field accompanied by 2 years of translation experience, preferably in the medical sector.

• Native proficiency in Spanish, with any variant from Latin America.

• Experience with CAT/TMS tools is essential.

• Demonstrated experience with terminology management and translation memories is required.

• Proven abilities in multitasking, time management, organization, and attention to detail.

• Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills are a must.

• Proficiency in the MS Office suite is necessary.

• Experience in the translation of medical devices is a plus.
