Landscape Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Provide strategic support to landscape partners throughout the UK and Ireland.

• Engage with system-level stakeholders, including businesses, funding organizations, government agencies, foundations, and educational institutions.

• Obtain funding and financing resources, including the upcoming nature restoration law funding in Ireland.

• Participate in the UK nature finance and funding landscape.

• Facilitate connections between finance providers and landscape partners.

• Collaborate in designing innovative solutions to systemic challenges and opportunities for comprehensive landscape restoration.

• Co-create an extensive fundraising strategy.

• Identify and map public and private funding opportunities across the UK, Ireland, and Europe.

• Support systemic innovations such as bioregional finance, ecosystem service payments, and learning networks.

• Organize learning sessions to enhance partners’ fundraising and facilitation skills.

• Work in collaboration with Commonland’s global learning community.

• Share insights and ensure strategic coherence with the European landscape restoration community.

• Travel frequently within the UK and Ireland, with occasional international travel.

⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of experience in partnership development, landscape restoration, and/or fundraising, particularly within the UK/Ireland.

• Strong understanding of the environmental, agricultural, rural, or sustainable development sectors in the UK/Ireland.

• Proficient knowledge of nature finance and funding mechanisms.

• Familiarity with funding and market-based finance systems.

• Interest in regenerative practices, new economy concepts, and bioregional strategies.

• Fluency in English.

• Knowledge of additional bioregional languages such as Welsh or Irish is advantageous.

• A broad network of stakeholders engaged in landscape restoration across the UK/Ireland.

• Availability for 32–40 hours per week.

• Eligibility to work in the UK or Ireland.

• Willingness to travel regularly within the UK and Ireland and occasionally abroad.
