Kinaxis Maestro Functional Consultant – Limited Travel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Act as the functional subject matter expert in Information Technology for the Demand Planning and Supply Planning processes in North America.

• Cultivate and sustain a comprehensive understanding of planning decisions, business rules, planning horizons, master data, KPIs, data ownership, decision rights, handoffs, and standard operating procedures.

• Convert business process needs into functional requirements, solution alternatives, acceptance criteria, and test scenarios.

• Function as the internal functional technology authority for Kinaxis Maestro, encompassing planning models, workbooks, dashboards, task flows, scorecards, control tables, alerts, scenarios, business rules, master data dependencies, integrations, reporting, and user experience.

• Lead or participate in functional design initiatives and review and endorse Kinaxis solution designs and configurations.

• Stay informed about Kinaxis product features and updates, advocating for the adoption of beneficial capabilities.

• Collaborate with architects, data and integration teams, security, delivery teams, and application teams to address cross-system impacts and adhere to enterprise standards.

• Offer functional leadership throughout discovery, design, configuration, testing, deployment, stabilization, and ongoing improvement.

• Create or assess functional documentation, process flows, solution decisions, configuration documentation, test evidence, release documentation, support procedures, and knowledge-transfer materials.

• Provide functional leadership for complex production incidents and recurring issues, confirming root-cause corrective actions.

• Oversee managed-service providers and implementation partners by evaluating estimates, designs, deliverables, and compliance with standards.

• Assist with business readiness, super-user training, release communications, and adoption initiatives.

• Supervise external implementation partners, software vendors, and managed-service providers in support of Kinaxis and connected planning processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience, is mandatory.

• At least 7 years of relevant experience in supply chain planning, enterprise planning technology, Information Technology functional consulting, or a related field is required.

• Proven expertise in both Demand Planning and Supply Planning processes; experience should extend beyond mere technical system administration.

• Required experience in functional implementation, enhancement, or production support with Kinaxis RapidResponse or Kinaxis Maestro.

• Strong grasp of statistical forecasting, forecast review, forecast accuracy and bias, demand consensus, supply and production planning, capacity and material constraints, inventory planning, scenario analysis, exception-based planning, and planning master data.

• Experience in translating business processes and requirements into functional solution designs, configuration decisions, acceptance criteria, test scenarios, and sustainable support practices.

• Familiarity with enterprise resource planning systems, master data, integrations, enterprise data platforms, reporting, and cross-functional processes that facilitate advanced planning.

• Experience across the systems development lifecycle, including testing, release management, incident and problem management, and change control for enterprise applications.

• Background in overseeing systems integrators, managed-service providers, or software vendors, along with reviewing partner estimates, designs, configurations, documentation, and delivered outcomes.

• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, and communication abilities.

• Capability to engage with planning leaders, planners, Information Technology teams, and external partners effectively.

• Proficiency in influencing without authority, making sound functional recommendations, balancing business outcomes with platform integrity, and driving issues to resolution.

• Preferred certifications include APICS / ASCM certification, Kinaxis certification, or other recognized supply chain planning or platform certification.

• Previous experience in a global manufacturing, agriculture, consumer products, or food and beverage sector is preferred.
