Junior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain web application features across both frontend and backend, crafting clean, well-documented code and implementing user interfaces according to design specifications.

• Engage with REST and GraphQL API integrations along with databases to support application functionalities.

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges across the frontend and backend, while writing unit and integration tests to ensure reliable releases.

• Adhere to security best practices and internal development standards, including git workflows.

• Take part in code reviews and team stand-ups, keeping the lead informed on task status and any obstacles encountered.

• Utilize AI technologies to enhance and streamline business processes.

• Leverage Power Digital's Nova ecosystem relevant to the department.

• Achieve KPIs such as timely sprint-ticket completion, minimal code-review revisions, zero critical production bugs, test coverage, and quick follow-up on review comments and stand-up actions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• Proficient in at least one modern web framework, comfortable writing JavaScript/TypeScript or an equivalent language applicable to the team's stack.

• Basic understanding of REST/GraphQL APIs and relational databases.

• Familiarity with Git and standard version control practices.

• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills necessary for daily tasks, including documentation, code comments, and interaction with global teams and clients.

• Expected to work during Pacific time zone hours.

• Comfortable with providing and receiving feedback in code reviews and seeking assistance when facing challenges.

• Willingness to learn, take guidance, and rapidly develop technical skills.
