This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Assist with the onboarding of tenants by implementing security classification activities and technical guardrails.
• Provide support for security assessments related to new data intake requests and ensure compliance with Data Sharing Agreements.
• Aid in the daily monitoring of security, conduct IAM entitlement reviews, and manage alert triage.
• Coordinate vulnerability scanning efforts and update the Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M).
• Keep security documentation up to date, including Risk Assessment Checklists and Non-Disclosure Agreements.
• Help prepare audit evidence packages as directed by the Senior Cybersecurity Specialist.
• Oversee compliance with IRS Security Awareness Training for contractor personnel.
• Participate in security reviews, vulnerability management, IAM governance, and audit assistance.
• Work collaboratively with senior cybersecurity team members to maintain documentation and support compliance initiatives.
• Aid in protecting sensitive information through robust access controls and adherence to security best practices.
• Active Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) is mandatory.
• U.S. Citizenship is a requirement.
• 2–4 years of experience in IT security, cloud security, or compliance roles are necessary.
• CompTIA Security+ certification is required.
• Proficient knowledge of AWS security services including IAM, CloudTrail, Security Hub, and GuardDuty.
• Familiarity with NIST 800-53 security controls and FedRAMP requirements is essential.
• Basic experience with vulnerability scanning tools such as Tenable or Qualys is preferred.
• Understanding of Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and principles of least-privilege access.
• A Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or equivalent experience is required.
• Must fulfill eligibility criteria for access to classified information and obtain a government-issued security clearance.
• Subject to a background check, including criminal history, employment and education verification, drug testing, and credit evaluation.
• Familiarity with AWS Config, Terraform, Git, and cloud-native security best practices is a plus.
• Experience with U.S. federal or IRS security is preferred.
• CompTIA CySA+ or Cloud+ certifications are desirable.
• Familiarity with SIEM platforms such as Splunk, ELK, and CloudWatch is beneficial.
• Experience with compliance tools like eMASS and Archer is advantageous.
• Knowledge of identity solutions such as Okta and SailPoint is preferred.
• Basic scripting or automation skills are a plus.
