Junior Full Stack Software Engineer – AI, Cloud Applications

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, create, test, troubleshoot, and maintain contemporary full-stack web applications.

• Build front-end applications utilizing Next.js, React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.

• Create back-end services, APIs, business logic, and integrations using Node.js, TypeScript, Python, or similar technologies.

• Develop and utilize RESTful APIs, integrating applications with databases, cloud services, and external systems.

• Take ownership of assigned development tasks from requirements gathering through implementation, testing, documentation, and deployment.

• Investigate technical challenges, determine root causes, devise solutions, and escalate issues when necessary.

• Design and prototype AI-enabled applications using LLM APIs, RAG, embeddings, vector databases, prompt engineering, AI agents, and related technologies.

• Work with SQL and/or NoSQL databases and suitable data models.

• Construct, package, and deploy applications using Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud services.

• Deploy and support applications in environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

• Utilize Git and GitHub for source control, branching, pull requests, and code reviews.

• Write clean, secure, maintainable, tested, and well-documented code.

• Engage in Agile practices including sprint planning, stand-ups, backlog refinement, demonstrations, and retrospectives.

• Create and maintain technical documentation for applications, APIs, integrations, configurations, and deployment processes.

• Convey technical concepts, implementation strategies, issues, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical team members.

• Research and assess emerging AI, cloud, web development, DevOps, and open-source technologies.

• Adhere to company cybersecurity, data protection, secure development, and responsible AI standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from an accredited college or university – REQUIRED.

• Approximately 1–2 years of experience in software development.

• Relevant internships, significant academic/capstone projects, research, independent development, or contributions to open-source projects may be considered.

• Proven hands-on experience in building functional software applications.

• Experience with JavaScript and/or TypeScript, along with familiarity with React, Next.js, or a similar modern web framework.

• Understanding of both front-end and back-end application development.

• Programming experience in an additional language such as Python, Java, or C#.

• Knowledge of REST APIs, HTTP, JSON, databases, application integrations, and modern web architecture.

• Familiarity with Git/GitHub, Docker, cloud computing, CI/CD, and application deployment concepts.

• Foundational understanding of AI, generative AI, or large language model technologies.

• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving capabilities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently on defined tasks while effectively collaborating within a development team.

• Quick learner of new technologies, frameworks, APIs, and development tools.

• Preferred: hands-on experience with Next.js and TypeScript.

• Preferred: experience in developing full-stack applications using React/Next.js with Node.js, Python, FastAPI, or similar technologies.

• Preferred: experience with Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, or other CI/CD technologies.

• Preferred: experience deploying applications or services on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

• Preferred: experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.

• Preferred: experience developing AI-enabled applications using commercial or open-source models and APIs.

• Preferred: familiarity with RAG, embeddings, vector databases, prompt engineering, structured outputs, tool/function calling, and AI agents.

• Preferred: familiarity with AI frameworks such as Hugging Face, LangChain, LlamaIndex, PyTorch, or similar technologies.

• Preferred: familiarity with OAuth, OpenID Connect, and JWT.

• Interest in creating technology solutions for federal government and defense clients.
