Junior Controller

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Singapore.

📋 Description

• Take responsibility for the complete accounting cycle for various entities across different countries, encompassing accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and month-end/year-end closures.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with SFRS/IFRS and US GAAP where applicable.

• Maintain the chart of accounts while ensuring the integrity of financial records and reconciliations.

• Oversee cash flow management, banking relationships, and treasury operations.

• Manage GST filings, corporate tax, and statutory reporting in collaboration with IRAS and ACRA.

• Coordinate with external tax agents as necessary.

• Lead the annual audit process and serve as the primary liaison for external auditors.

• Design and implement internal controls, finance policies, and approval workflows.

• Supervise payroll, CPF contributions, and employee expense processes.

• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cash-runway planning while proactively identifying risks.

• Collaborate with founders and department heads on expenditure, unit economics, and vendor contracts.

• Utilize AI and automation tools to enhance the efficiency of closing processes, reporting, and reconciliations.

• Provide support for fundraising, investor reporting, and due diligence inquiries.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of pertinent experience in accounting or finance.

• A degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related discipline.

• CA (Singapore), ACCA, or CPA qualification is highly preferred.

• Strong understanding of SFRS and IFRS; familiarity with US GAAP is advantageous.

• Knowledge of GST, corporate tax, and Singapore statutory obligations.

• Experience in external or internal auditing.

• Capability to design, implement, and enforce internal controls and finance processes from the ground up.

• Practical experience managing a full set of accounts independently.

• Proficient in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or NetSuite.

• Strong skills in Excel/Google Sheets.

• Ability to prioritize tasks and work strategically and practically in uncertain environments.

• Willingness to adopt AI tools and leverage them for increased efficiency.

• Interest or exposure to Web3, crypto, or digital asset accounting is a strong plus, though not mandatory.

• Exceptional attention to detail, a sense of ownership, and effective communication skills.
