Controller

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Manage general ledger and accounting functions across various ARP brands and entities.

• Direct the accurate and timely completion of monthly and year-end closing processes.

• Prepare and assess monthly financial statements along with consolidated management reports.

• Ensure adherence to GAAP and established ARP accounting policies in accounting practices.

• Review balance sheet reconciliations and address any outstanding issues.

• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, commission accounting, and other essential accounting activities.

• Monitor cash balances and assist with both short- and long-term cash forecasting.

• Prepare monthly Financial Reporting Packages and assist with Monthly Operating Reviews.

• Enhance reporting processes and identify automation opportunities.

• Supervise multi-entity consolidation and resolve intercompany matters.

• Review percentage-of-completion accounting, job costing, WIP schedules, percent-complete calculations, and revenue recognition.

• Collaborate with Operations to enhance job-cost accuracy and standardize POC processes.

• Partner with the CFO and M&A/integration teams on due diligence and acquisition integration.

• Transition acquired companies into ARP's financial reporting framework.

• Implement standardized accounting policies, procedures, SOPs, and internal controls.

• Lead budgeting and forecasting efforts while analyzing actual performance against budgets.

• Review KPIs, margins, backlog, cash flow, and overall operating performance.

• Develop and continuously enhance internal controls and accounting processes.

• Provide leadership, coaching, and financial oversight to the Accounting Manager and Senior Accountants.

• Build a scalable Corporate Accounting organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Over 7 years of progressive accounting experience.

• Previous experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or similar senior accounting leadership role.

• Experience in acquisition integration.

• Multi-entity/multi-brand accounting experience.

• Financial consolidation experience.

• Familiarity with percentage-of-completion accounting.

• Strong job-costing expertise.

• Experience with QuickBooks Online.

• In-depth knowledge of GAAP and month-end closing processes.

• Experience leading an external financial statement audit.

• Background in budgeting and forecasting.

• Experience in managing and developing accounting professionals.

• Expertise in developing and implementing internal controls.

• Advanced skills in Excel.

• Ability to thrive in a remote, multi-company environment.

• Willingness to travel nationally approximately 20% as required.
