Financial Controller – Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Act as the key finance business partner to functional and executive leadership.

• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning initiatives.

• Create financial models for strategic projects, new product launches, pricing strategies, market expansion, and investment opportunities.

• Track and assess business performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to enhance growth and profitability.

• Develop and maintain executive dashboards and key performance indicators for both financial and operational performance.

• Conduct variance analysis and suggest actions to maximize revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, and cash flow.

• Collaborate with Product, Commercial, and Technical teams to assess business cases and allocate resources.

• Assist in board presentations and due diligence activities.

• Enhance financial planning, reporting, and analytics through automation and scalable processes.

• Work with Accounting on month-end closing, financial reporting, and compliance with internal controls.

• Analyze SaaS and technology business metrics such as ARR, MRR, CAC, LTV, churn, retention, and unit economics.

• Facilitate international expansion, partnerships, mergers and acquisitions, and new business models.

• Foster financial accountability while promoting swift and informed decision-making.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.

• 7+ years of experience in Business Controlling, FP&A, Strategic Finance, or Corporate Finance, ideally in a high-growth technology firm or startup.

• Proficient in financial modeling, forecasting, and business analysis.

• Experience collaborating with senior executives and cross-functional leadership teams.

• Comprehensive understanding of business drivers or digital business models.

• Advanced skills in Excel and financial modeling.

• Proficiency in using AI tools.

• Familiarity with ERP, FP&A, and BI systems such as MS Dynamics, NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, Workday Adaptive Planning, Power BI, Looker, Tableau, or similar platforms.

• Exceptional analytical capabilities with the ability to convert data into strategic business insights.

• Strong communication and presentation skills, including confidence in presenting to executives, investors, and board members.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with a hands-on approach.

• Proven track record of establishing scalable financial processes in an expanding organization.

• Strong project management and stakeholder management abilities.

• High level of ownership, curiosity, and a mindset geared towards continuous improvement.

• Experience in fintech, blockchain, Web3, digital assets, or cryptocurrency sectors is preferred.

• Knowledge of token economics, digital asset accounting, or cryptocurrency market dynamics is an advantage.
