Junior Back-End Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Macedonia, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Develop backend components including APIs, serverless functions, queue systems, and data storage services under the guidance of senior engineers.

• Engage in design discussions and bring forth questions and innovative ideas.

• Implement best practices for security and data protection.

• Produce clean, well-tested code accompanied by clear documentation.

• Take part in code reviews to enhance code quality.

• Participate in discussions with technical leads and clients regarding requirements and project delivery.

• Provide updates on work progress.

• Advance through Loka's career track with mentorship and support.

• Report directly to a Backend Lead.

• Investigate new tools and techniques, and experiment with innovative ideas.

• Collaborate with teams in Machine Learning, Data Engineering, and other departments.

• Assume ownership of assigned tasks until their completion.

⛳️ Requirements

• 1 to 2 years of experience in backend development.

• Proficiency in Python or Node.js (TypeScript).

• A solid grounding in computer science principles.

• Familiarity with API/Web communication protocols (OpenAPI, gRPC, etc.).

• Understanding of concurrency concepts in APIs/Web.

• Ability to work in a container-first environment.

• Excellent command of English, as the global team conducts all meetings, customer calls, and business communications in English.

• Resume written in English.
