Java/Python Developer – AI, Maintenance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

• Implement best practices in software development within a fast-paced environment, fostering autonomy and ongoing learning.

• Utilize Cursor, ChatGPT, and other AI tools for tasks such as analysis, code creation, incident investigation, documentation, and expediting deliveries.

• Validate AI-generated content in code, databases, and logs from a technical perspective.

• Make necessary adjustments after testing in a staging (UAT) environment, ensuring that business operations remain unaffected.

• Design, maintain, and offer support for APIs, services, legacy systems, scripts, ETL processes, automation, and jobs.

• Work with technologies such as Java, Python, AWS, Git, and Grafana.

• Contribute to the technological transformation of Brazil's insurance sector.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient and consistent use of Cursor (Agents, rules, repository context, diff review).

• Advanced skills in using ChatGPT and similar tools to break down problems, create hypotheses, and validate solutions.

• Capability to review code, databases, and logs prior to resolving issues.

• Effective communication regarding AI suggestions that are accepted or rejected.

• Ability to implement fixes in production after thorough testing in staging/UAT, ensuring business continuity.

• Experience in developing AI playbooks for teams (strong advantage).

• Familiarity with MCP, skills, automation, and the integration of AI into workflows (strong advantage).

• Experience applying AI in real-world systems, including legacy systems, SQL Server, AWS, and batch processes (strong advantage).

• Proficiency in Java with Spring framework.

• Skill in Python programming.

• Knowledge of AWS services: S3, Lambda, SQS, CloudWatch; familiarity with Step Functions/EMR is desirable.

• Proficiency in Git: handling branches, pull requests, and resolving conflicts.

• Experience with Grafana: metrics, logs, and dashboards.

• Independence in conducting end-to-end investigations (code, data, and observability).

• Organized approach to documenting reasoning.

• Adherence to data ethics: do not input passwords or personally identifiable information into AI tools without company authorization.
