This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Design and develop high-performance, fault-tolerant connector integrations and adapters for essential business workflows.
• Architect distributed microservices utilizing cloud-native design patterns for multi-tenant SaaS environments.
• Construct and enhance data pipelines employing REST, SOAP, GraphQL, gRPC, webhooks, as well as synchronous, asynchronous, and event-driven communication patterns.
• Lead technical decisions on critical subsystems and participate in RFCs and architectural reviews.
• Guide junior engineers on system design principles.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and tracing, while owning the operational health and observability of deployed systems.
• Collaborate with Product, DevOps, and SRE teams to deliver features, resolve production incidents, and enhance platform reliability.
• Advocate for code reviews, testing strategies, security enhancements, and performance optimization.
• Contribute to initiatives focused on platform infrastructure and developer experience.
• Design, architect, and execute robust, scalable distributed systems that power Jitterbit’s SaaS integration and API management platform.
• Over 7 years of experience designing and building large-scale, distributed backend systems that meet high throughput and low latency requirements.
• More than 5 years of experience working with multi-tenant SaaS architectures in a production environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead system design and engage in architectural decisions.
• Experience in mentoring engineers on design patterns and best practices.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging capabilities.
• Extensive experience with microservices architecture, including service decomposition, API design, and inter-service communication patterns.
• Practical experience with AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and serverless methodologies.
• Solid understanding of SOLID principles, design patterns, system design, and testing at unit, integration, and end-to-end levels.
• Expert-level proficiency in Java 8+ with strong skills in OOP, concurrency, performance tuning, memory management, Spring Boot, Guava, and Netty.
• Expertise in REST, SOAP, GraphQL, gRPC, HTTP semantics, caching, rate limiting, and error handling.
• Hands-on experience with RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka, AWS SQS/SNS, or similar message brokers and event-streaming technologies.
• Strong SQL skills, with emphasis on query optimization and indexing.
• Experience with MongoDB, DynamoDB, Cassandra, and understanding of consistency trade-offs.
• Proficiency with Docker and practical production experience with Kubernetes or container runtimes.
• Advanced knowledge of Git workflows and experience using GitHub or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD, or similar CI/CD tools.
• Ability to develop build pipelines, deployment scripts, and infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools.
• Comfort with the Linux command line and OS-level concepts, including memory allocation, processes, file systems, and networking.
• Experience with ELK, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, Zipkin, or similar observability tools.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a distributed, remote team.
