IT Program Director – M&A Business Process and Systems Strategy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Establish transaction-level business processes and systems strategies for acquisitions, carve-outs, separations, and divestitures.

• Oversee strategies related to due diligence, sign-to-close planning, Day 1 readiness, systems integration or separation, stabilization, and post-close value realization.

• Convert diligence findings, deal objectives, business capabilities, and value drivers into integration recommendations, roadmaps, dependencies, risks, costs, and decision requirements.

• Outline end-to-end business processes, value streams, applications, data, integrations, controls, and organizational handoffs.

• Facilitate decisions regarding process standardization, local exceptions, capability preservation, application retention or retirement, platform adoption or coexistence, migration, sequencing, and business readiness.

• Define target-state and interim-state business systems strategies, balancing speed, cost, risk, compliance, continuity, scalability, and enterprise standards.

• Encourage alignment among IT Value Streams, Enterprise Architecture, process owners, business leaders, acquired-company teams, Integration Leads, and external system integrators.

• Identify unique acquired capabilities to preserve, scale, or integrate into Medtronic enterprise roadmaps.

• Highlight critical decisions, dependencies, risks, and outcomes without presuming detailed delivery or deployment ownership.

• Develop reusable integration patterns, playbooks, decision frameworks, estimation models, system-mapping templates, and lessons learned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.

• 10+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 8+ years with an advanced degree.

• 7+ years of managerial experience.

• Extensive experience in leading business systems or technology strategies for acquisitions, carve-outs, separations, or other complex business transactions.

• Proficient knowledge of SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA, along with related applications, data, integrations, controls, and business processes.

• Capability to link end-to-end business processes and value streams to applications, data, integrations, controls, and operating models within a complex global enterprise.

• Experience driving application portfolio rationalization, process harmonization, target-state and interim-state planning, capability preservation, or transition decisions.

• Experience in leading strategic programs through matrixed teams and external partners.

• Proven ability to influence senior business leaders, IT Value Streams, Enterprise Architecture, process owners, acquired-company teams, and technology partners.

• Experience in translating complex process and systems landscapes into decision-ready roadmaps.

• Experience in leading or challenging major system integrators, consulting partners, or advisory firms.

• Unrestricted U.S. work authorization is required at the time of hire and for the duration of employment for roles below Principal level.

• For baccalaureate degrees obtained outside the United States, a degree satisfying 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is necessary.
