IT Manager – Information Systems, Technology Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Assess IT management strategies, workflows, and professional outputs for quality and precision.

• Evaluate proposed methods against realistic enterprise technology landscapes.

• Examine information systems priorities, technical operations, and management choices.

• Identify operational deficiencies, unsupported assumptions, and unrealistic suggestions.

• Analyze IT project plans, technology roadmaps, and system priorities.

• Evaluate objectives, dependencies, resources, implementation considerations, trade-offs, timelines, and technical interdependencies.

• Review technical standards, policies, and technology management procedures for clarity, consistency, and practicality.

• Oversee governance across systems, applications, infrastructure, and technical teams.

• Assess incident response scenarios and IT service management workflows, including prioritization, escalation, ownership, technical response, coordination, communication, and recovery planning.

• Evaluate technical team assignment and coordination scenarios, staffing, ownership, responsibilities, and resource limitations.

• Review external technology vendor and service provider scenarios, including coordination, dependencies, delivery, oversight, escalation, and sourcing decisions.

• Analyze enterprise applications, information systems, data processing environments, software operations, technical support, and application management scenarios.

• Compare alternative IT management responses and evaluate operational soundness, technical rigor, and cross-team feasibility.

• Identify significant weaknesses and differentiate substantial issues from minor presentation concerns.

• Provide succinct, evidence-based written feedback and consistently apply evaluation standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience in IT management, information systems management, technical services, application development management, or a closely related area.

• Previous experience as an IT Manager, Information Systems Manager, IT Director, Application Development Director, Technical Services Manager, or a comparable technology management role.

• Proven experience directing or coordinating activities across electronic data processing, information systems, systems analysis, or computer programming teams.

• Strong practical understanding of enterprise technology operations and management of technical teams.

• Familiarity with system prioritization, technical standards, incident management, vendor coordination, and IT service delivery.

• Ability to assess technology management recommendations for technical and operational viability.

• Excellent written English communication skills.

• Capability to work independently and provide accurate professional feedback.

• Work must be carried out without utilizing confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, institution, or other third parties.

• Compensation ranges from $60–$100/hour for hourly project work.
