IT Infrastructure Engineer – Windows, Active Directory, VMware

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, sustain, and enhance server infrastructure for Windows and Linux.

• Oversee and maintain virtualization, storage, and backup solutions.

• Administer Windows Active Directory and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).

• Provide support for enterprise applications and services hosted on Windows and Linux platforms, including email and business systems.

• Manage services related to monitoring, patch management, configuration management, and access control.

• Plan and execute operating system patching and infrastructure upgrades in alignment with company policies.

• Lead small to medium-sized infrastructure projects and engage in larger infrastructure initiatives.

• Conduct qualification, validation, troubleshooting, and performance optimization of infrastructure systems.

• Maintain an accurate inventory of infrastructure assets, warranties, and associated services.

• Coordinate with infrastructure vendors, including tracking deliveries, contract management, and vendor activities.

• Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and system standards.

• Work collaboratively with Network & Connectivity and Cloud & Modern Workplace teams on cross-domain initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

• Full professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

• Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server and Active Directory.

• Practical experience with virtualization technologies.

• Experience in administering Windows and/or Linux servers.

• Familiarity with enterprise infrastructure services such as PKI and email/MTA technologies.

• Practical experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.

• Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing infrastructure projects.

• Knowledge of infrastructure monitoring, patch management, and configuration management.

• Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.

• Experience with VMware, Proxmox, or Hyper-V environments.

• Experience with Microsoft Azure and hybrid infrastructures.

• Familiarity with Azure Arc and Azure Update Manager.

• Experience with Zabbix or similar infrastructure monitoring platforms.

• Proficiency in PowerShell or other scripting languages for infrastructure automation.

• Experience with Microsoft Exchange, Sendmail, or Postfix.

• Experience with Veeam or equivalent backup technologies.

• Understanding of ITIL, change management, qualification, and validation processes.

• Relevant certifications in Microsoft, virtualization, Linux, or other infrastructure domains.
