IT Infrastructure Engineer – Windows, Active Directory, VMware

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Estonia.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, maintain, and enhance the infrastructure for Windows and Linux servers.

• Oversee and sustain virtualization, storage, and backup systems.

• Administer Windows Active Directory and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).

• Provide support for enterprise applications and services hosted on both Windows and Linux platforms, such as email and business systems.

• Manage infrastructure oversight and supporting systems, including monitoring, patch management, configuration management, and access control services.

• Plan and carry out OS patching and infrastructure upgrades in line with company policies.

• Lead small to medium-sized infrastructure projects and engage in larger infrastructure initiatives.

• Conduct qualification, validation, troubleshooting, and performance optimization of infrastructure systems.

• Maintain a detailed inventory of infrastructure assets, warranties, and associated services.

• Coordinate with infrastructure vendors, including tracking deliveries, executing contracts, and overseeing vendor activities.

• Develop and uphold technical documentation, procedures, and system standards.

• Collaborate with Network & Connectivity and Cloud & Modern Workplace teams on cross-domain initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• A university degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

• Full professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

• Strong practical experience with Windows Server and Active Directory.

• Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies.

• Experience in administering Windows and/or Linux servers.

• Familiarity with enterprise infrastructure services, including PKI and email/MTA technologies.

• Practical knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions.

• Experience in designing, implementing, and managing infrastructure projects.

• Proficiency in infrastructure monitoring, patch management, and configuration management.

• Capability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and keep thorough technical documentation.

• Experience with VMware, Proxmox, or Hyper-V.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and hybrid infrastructure.

• Knowledge of Azure Arc and Azure Update Manager.

• Experience with Zabbix or similar infrastructure monitoring platforms.

• Proficiency in PowerShell or other scripting languages and infrastructure automation.

• Experience with Microsoft Exchange, Sendmail, or Postfix.

• Familiarity with Veeam or comparable backup technologies.

• Understanding of ITIL, change management, qualification, and validation processes.

• Relevant certifications in Microsoft, virtualization, Linux, or other infrastructure domains.
