IT Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and nurture a diverse technology team consisting of around eight members.

• Set priorities, establish performance expectations, ensure accountability, and create development plans.

• Identify skill deficiencies, succession planning needs, and opportunities for professional growth.

• Distribute workloads effectively and align resources with evolving business priorities.

• Foster collaboration among engineering, software development, infrastructure, security, data, operations, vendors, and business stakeholders.

• Manage approximately 30 simultaneous technology projects with competing priorities and dependencies.

• Provide oversight for strategic technology initiatives with budgets exceeding $1 million.

• Monitor scope, status, risks, resources, budgets, dependencies, and outcomes of projects.

• Collaborate with executives and business leaders to prioritize projects.

• Convert business goals into organized, actionable tasks for technical and software development teams.

• Ensure all requirements, acceptance criteria, testing plans, data needs, documentation, and implementation expectations are defined prior to development.

• Oversee third-party vendors, ensuring accountability for timelines, quality, contractual obligations, security requirements, and outcomes.

• Lead major system implementations, telecommunications projects, integrations, application enhancements, and reporting solutions.

• Guide the development of reports, dashboards, data models, analytics, and business intelligence solutions, including Power BI.

• Advocate for data quality, governance, appropriate access controls, and accurate reporting.

• Ensure solutions are scalable, reliable, secure, and support business continuity.

• Collaborate with software engineering teams on requirements readiness, testing, releases, and production handoffs.

• Support Agile, DevSecOps, automation, CI/CD, and cloud-based services methodologies.

• Utilize metrics and operational data to identify bottlenecks and enhance technology delivery.

• Ensure comprehensive testing, including functional, integration, regression, security, performance, and user acceptance testing.

• Strengthen QA processes based on project complexity and risk assessments.

• Ensure implementations comprise training, documentation, change management, support plans, rollback procedures, and post-launch monitoring.

• Conduct or assist with post-implementation reviews.

• Encourage root-cause analysis and sustainable corrective measures.

• Assess AI, automation, and analytics opportunities in requirements development, testing, reporting, project delivery, and team productivity.

• Ensure AI-enabled solutions incorporate human oversight, data protection, security reviews, accuracy validation, and governance measures.

• Evaluate AI opportunities based on measurable business impact.

• Stay informed about cybersecurity threats, privacy standards, technology regulations, and third-party risks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in leading professionals in technical, data, analytics, reporting, QA, product, project, or business analysis roles.

• Experience managing multidisciplinary technology teams.

• Background in data analysis, business analysis, technical analysis, information security, reporting, or related fields.

• Proficient in managing multiple concurrent technology initiatives with shared dependencies and competing priorities.

• Experience with significant technology implementations, enterprise system transitions, ERP initiatives, telecommunications projects, or similar organizational changes.

• Ability to translate business objectives into actionable technical specifications.

• Experience in project risk management, resource allocation, prioritization, quality assurance, and escalation procedures.

• Capable of communicating complex technical concepts to executives, business leaders, vendors, and technical teams.

• Knowledge of contemporary software delivery practices, QA, data governance, cybersecurity, cloud services, automation, and AI-enabled business tools.

• Proficient in .NET / .NET Core, C#, T-SQL / SQL Server, Entity Framework, ASP.NET, .NET MVC, Angular and/or React, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and Bootstrap.

• Willingness to travel up to 20% as required.

• Preferred: experience in healthcare and/or call-center environments.

• Preferred: experience managing approximately 30 simultaneous projects or similarly complex workloads.

• Preferred: background in Power BI, enterprise reporting, data visualization, analytics, or data management.

• Preferred: familiarity with ERP systems, telecommunications infrastructures, enterprise applications, and system integrations.

• Preferred: experience in regulated, security-sensitive, or data-intensive environments.

• Preferred: experience in vendor management, budgeting, contract oversight, and technology procurement.

• Preferred: experience applying AI or automation to technology delivery, reporting, QA, or operational workflows.
