
IT Director – Global Trade Compliance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Take ownership of and articulate the long-term technical vision and roadmap for Global Trade Compliance systems and data.
• Align technology solutions with business objectives, Consent Agreement obligations, data governance standards, and regulatory frameworks such as ITAR, EAR, DFARS, CMMC, and GT modernization requirements.
• Act as the IT Product Owner for Global Trade systems, which include export management systems, authorization workflow tools like Appian, and associated data pipelines.
• Lead a multidisciplinary product team encompassing business analysis, configuration, testing, production support, integration, and ongoing improvement.
• Ensure dependable system operations, robust service health, adherence to SLAs, and swift issue resolution.
• Maintain compliance with enterprise policies, cybersecurity standards, classification mandates, and data handling protocols for export-controlled data.
• Collaborate with BRMs, Legal, Global Trade leadership, and functional SMEs to define problem statements, clarify requirements, and prioritize initiatives.
• Promote the adoption of AI, automation, and analytics capabilities within the Global Trade value stream.
• Manage relationships with key vendors, ensure contract fulfillment, address escalations, and uphold quality and delivery standards.
• Supervise escalation management, RCA processes, and enhancements to service resilience.
• Drive KPIs, analytics, dashboard visibility, and readiness reporting for leadership.
• Work together with business executives, Legal, Compliance, Cybersecurity, Architecture, Enterprise Applications, and Integration Services.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Over 12 years of progressive IT leadership experience in enterprise systems, service ownership, application lifecycle management, or compliance-related technologies.
• Experience in supporting legal, export, or compliance systems, including EMS or similar tools.
• Proven ability to implement technology plans and support export and compliance operations.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, including effective communication, facilitation, and negotiation abilities.
• Capability to translate business needs into technical strategies and actionable roadmaps.
• Demonstrated ability to influence across matrixed organizations and establish trusted partnerships.
• Analytical mindset with the capacity to balance long-term strategy with short-term operational demands.
• Practical decision-making approach complemented by strong problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with contemporary software development practices, program management, and technical engineering environments.
• Proven track record in leading enterprise system sustainment and application lifecycle management.
• Background in Global Trade, export control systems, or regulated data workflows.
• Ability to clearly communicate both technical and non-technical concepts to executives.
