Islamic Content, Research Assistant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Egypt.

📋 Description

• Conduct research and authenticate Islamic information using reputable and acknowledged sources.

• Assess Islamic claims, rulings, references, quotations, and supporting evidence.

• Investigate and review content related to the Qur'an, Hadith, Fiqh, Aqeedah, Seerah, and other Islamic fields.

• Document the methodologies and reliable sources utilized for each topic.

• Assist in establishing standards for source selection and content inclusion.

• Identify content that necessitates further scholarly examination.

• Organize Islamic knowledge into domains, subdomains, topics, and user inquiries.

• Construct and maintain structured datasets of Islamic content and questions.

• Develop and enhance topic taxonomies, use cases, and knowledge frameworks.

• Review and refine questions, use cases, prompts, and example answers.

• Evaluate AI-generated responses for Islamic accuracy, source quality, citations, consistency, scholarly distinctions, clarity, and appropriateness.

• Compare AI-generated responses with those from other AI tools.

• Identify unsupported claims, hallucinations, weak sourcing, and misleading information.

• Create ongoing quality assurance processes for Islamic content.

• Review Hadith, Fiqh, and other Islamic materials for accuracy and context.

• Recognize scholarly disagreements and topics that need review by qualified scholars.

• Differentiate between broad scholarly consensus and legitimate differing opinions.

• Escalate sensitive, complex, or poorly supported content.

• Collaborate with product, engineering, and AI teams.

• Translate scholarly requirements into structured content and review standards.

• Identify issues in the retrieval, structuring, or presentation of Islamic knowledge by AI.

• Engage in testing and evaluating AI features and behaviors.

• Provide feedback and suggestions to product and engineering teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master's or PhD in Shariah, Islamic Studies, or a related field from a recognized institution.

• A strong foundation in Islamic studies with clear adherence to Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jamaa'ah.

• Proficient in Arabic, including the ability to read and comprehend classical Islamic texts.

• Good command of professional English, both written and verbal.

• Strong research, analytical, and source verification skills.

• Keen attention to detail and a commitment to accurate sourcing.

• Proficient in using Microsoft Excel, Word, structured templates, and datasets.

• Interest in or experience with AI, chatbots, prompts, or AI-generated content.

• Approximately 5–7 years of relevant experience, though strong candidates with varying levels of experience may also be considered.

• Organized, proactive, analytical, and comfortable in a technology-driven environment.
