This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.

📋 Description

• Implement and uphold corporate security while advancing CareOregon’s security framework.

• Assess, design, and apply information security policies and systems.

• Create and sustain security technologies such as firewalls, proxy systems, logging, and other security devices.

• Offer expert knowledge in advanced security technologies and provide consultation on projects.

• Counsel IS teams regarding best practices in security design.

• Manage ticket and service-request tasks, ranging from basic to complex activities.

• Evaluate business requirements and investigate, suggest solutions, risks, and mitigations.

• Construct, execute, and review reports on information security performance and event anomalies.

• Implement system adjustments and identify security vulnerabilities based on assessments.

• Create and update technology design and operational documentation.

• Recommend information security requirements and standards.

• Assess systems for compliance with established standards.

• Formulate and uphold information security policies.

• Collaborate with network engineers in the development and management of security policies and systems.

• Assist in disaster recovery and business continuity efforts.

• Develop, oversee, and maintain electronic data exchanges with external entities.

• Manage service contracts and licensing while ensuring vendor SLA compliance.

• Escalate vendor-related issues as necessary.


⛳️ Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in delivering information security solutions and related services.

• Proficiency with WAN firewalls, load balancers, and proxies.

• Experience in designing, configuring, and supporting a network DMZ.

• Background in developing secure collaboration solutions for external partners or affiliates.

• Experience in integrating computer security with risk analysis, audit, and compliance objectives.

• Familiarity with ITIL concepts and practices.

• Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls is preferred.

• Preferred certifications include CISSP, GIAC certifications, CCSP, CISM, and/or Microsoft Security certifications.

• Understanding of Vulnerability Management systems and processes.

• Knowledge of Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM) systems.

• Advanced skills in data loss prevention (DLP), Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), and Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS).

• Proficient in troubleshooting system performance issues and identifying root causes.

• Advanced understanding of network transport protocols and industry standards.

• Ability to program using scripting languages such as Python, Powershell, VB, and C++.

• Strong process-oriented mindset with knowledge of ITIL principles.

• Excellent communication, analytical, research, project management, vendor management, and organizational skills.

• Capability to recommend policies, document risks, and propose solutions to IT management and senior leadership.

• Ability to work collaboratively across departments and lead teams independently.

• Effective in working with diverse individuals and groups.

• Capability to see, read, and perform repetitive finger and wrist movements for at least 6 hours a day.

• Ability to hear and speak clearly for at least 3–6 hours a day.

• Willingness to occasionally work outside standard office hours.
