Investment Compliance Technical Lead

📋 Description

• Lead a project for a trillion-dollar AUM asset manager that is transforming the management of Investment Management Agreements (IMAs).

• Evaluate how restrictions, benchmarks, exceptions, and remediation requirements are articulated across IMAs, amendments, and CRIMS configurations.

• Establish the canonical vocabulary, schema, and rule composition model for restrictions, thresholds, and exceptions.

• Integrate effective dating, versioning, and provenance into the semantic and data model.

• Collaborate with legal, compliance, and investment stakeholders to interpret guideline language and develop computable rules.

• Model limits, ratings, benchmarks, breaches, remediation actions, and effective-date logic.

• Ensure that every rule is traceable to its source clause and interpretation, with auditable change control.

• Construct the initial platform and implement rule-validation and scenario-testing practices.

• Set the technical direction for the team.

• Communicate technical trade-offs to legal, compliance, investment, engineering, and executive stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience with rules engines or decision modeling: Drools, DMN, Camunda, Open Policy Agent, or similar.

• Proficiency in modeling temporal/versioned data queried as of a specified date.

• Knowledge of graphs or semantic modeling: RDF, OWL, and ontology design.

• Experience in constructing audit trails and provenance systems.

• Familiarity with clause extraction, taxonomy design, or transforming unstructured legal text into structured data.

• Experience in property-based or scenario-based testing.

• Proven ability to code investment guidelines into pre- or post-trade compliance rules on platforms such as Charles River (CRD), Aladdin, Sentinel, or Bloomberg AIM.

• Understanding of asset management workflows, including holdings, benchmarks, credit ratings, breaches, and remediation.

• Experience working with IMAs and mandates.

• Capability to map business rules to technical logic and articulate trade-offs to legal and engineering stakeholders.

• High level of initiative and ability to progress ambiguous tasks independently.

• Excellent writing skills.

• Senior-level client-facing capability.

• Experience in converting legal or regulatory text into computable rules.

• T-shaped expertise, with depth in rules engines, data modeling, or investment compliance.

• Experience in building traceable, auditable systems with deterministic logic.

• Ability to work remotely from the US or Canada.

• United States work authorization is required; visa sponsorship is addressed in the application.
