Interpreter – Lao

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia.

📋 Description

• Facilitate language interpretation between individuals who face language barriers, enabling effective understanding and communication.

• Manage on-demand telephone or video calls, providing consecutive interpretation to convey the meaning of conversations between English speakers.

• Swiftly and accurately process information while recognizing sensitive cultural nuances, maintaining professionalism and courtesy.

• Utilize relevant industry terminology and demonstrate an understanding of established industry procedures and practices.

• Interpret calls that may cover simple or complex topics, whether technical or non-technical, in sectors such as Healthcare, Government, Insurance, Finance, Utilities, Travel and Hospitality, 911 emergency services, Law Enforcement, Courts, and General Business.

• Exceptional listening, retention, and note-taking abilities to ensure a high degree of accuracy.

• Capacity to concentrate, remain detached from the conversation, and consistently uphold neutrality and objectivity.

• Competence in quickly building personal credibility.

• Ability to meticulously follow client instructions.

• Capability to clarify specific cultural concepts, with client permission or upon request, to prevent misunderstandings.

• B2 CEFR English Level proficiency, bilingual in other required languages.

• Must be able to work from home on a permanent basis.
