Intermediate QA Automation Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Assess requirements and user stories pertaining to merchant onboarding processes.

• Create test plans, test cases, and scenarios for the web application and APIs.

• Conduct functional, end-to-end, and exploratory testing of the web application.

• Test REST APIs using Postman, validating requests, responses, status codes, errors, authentication, and data contracts.

• Design, develop, and manage automated UI and API tests utilizing Playwright and TypeScript.

• Contribute to the integration of tests within CI/CD pipelines.

• Ensure verification of end-to-end data flows between the web application, APIs, and both internal and third-party systems.

• Validate acquiring processes, transaction settlements, fees, payout amounts, payout schedules, settlement files, and reconciliation reports.

• Maintain and execute both manual and automated regression test suites.

• Document, track, and prioritize defects with clear steps for reproduction.

• Take ownership of testing for assigned features, manage priorities, and report on quality risks.

• Engage in Agile ceremonies, communicate testing outcomes, and share best practices.

• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and the customer support team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or college diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Over 3 years of experience in quality assurance or software testing.

• Strong theoretical and practical understanding of quality assurance, including test levels and types, test design techniques, defect lifecycle, and test strategies.

• ISTQB certification is considered a plus.

• Practical experience in automating tests with Playwright and TypeScript (or JavaScript).

• Extensive experience testing REST APIs using Postman (including collections, environments, scripts, and assertions).

• Experience with Newman is advantageous.

• Ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks, and take ownership of deliverables from inception to completion.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.

• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills within cross-functional teams.

• Bilingualism in French and English is a benefit.

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Understanding of the acquiring domain, especially settlement and reconciliation processes, the transaction lifecycle, fees, and chargebacks.

• Experience in merchant onboarding or fintech is advantageous.
