Intermediate Java Software Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Design, maintain, and enhance applications built on Java.

• Utilize J2EE and Spring frameworks in development tasks.

• Create and sustain enterprise-level integrations.

• Construct and support integration pathways using Apache Camel.

• Develop and manage messaging integrations through RabbitMQ and/or ActiveMQ.

• Compose and optimize SQL queries for performance.

• Operate within Linux environments.

• Diagnose and resolve application and production issues.

• Engage in testing, code reviews, and deployment activities.

• Collaborate with both technical teams and business stakeholders.

• Ensure applications are robust, scalable, and easy to maintain.

• Provide support for existing services while implementing enhancements without disrupting downstream processes.

• Document modifications, configurations, and handover notes to ensure support continuity.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional Java development experience.

• Extensive Java / J2EE expertise applied in production settings.

• Proficient in Spring framework.

• SQL proficiency, including the ability to write and optimize queries.

• Experience working in Linux environments.

• Familiarity with enterprise application development.

• Knowledge of integration technologies.

• Experience with RabbitMQ and/or ActiveMQ integrations.

• Proficient in using Apache Camel.

• Solid understanding of software development methodologies, including testing, code reviews, and deployment processes.

• Experience in the telecommunications sector is a plus.

• OSS/BSS experience is beneficial.

• Experience in high-volume transactional environments is a plus.

• Production support background is advantageous.

• Familiarity with additional messaging or integration technologies is a plus.

• HTML/CSS knowledge is beneficial.

• Exposure to monitoring, logging, and alerting in production environments is advantageous.
