Intermediate Fullstack Engineer, Ruby/Vue.js

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and refine A/B tests and experiments aimed at enhancing first-time purchases on GitLab.com and self-managed GitLab.

• Create and optimize registration, trial, onboarding, and in-product upgrade and purchase experiences.

• Implement backend features and services utilizing Ruby on Rails, as well as frontend experiences with Vue.js.

• Work with Data Analysts to analyze experiment outcomes and product usage data to determine which changes to retain, modify, or revert.

• Partner with Product Managers and UX Designers to establish hypotheses and define success metrics.

• Maintain and enhance the experimentation framework and tools.

• Collaborate with Engineering teams, including Fulfillment, to eliminate purchasing obstacles.

• Document decisions, conduct code reviews, and asynchronously share experiment outcomes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Professional experience in development with Ruby on Rails and modern JavaScript.

• Strong knowledge of Git, feature development, and deployment workflows.

• Experience with relational databases.

• Comprehensive understanding of web performance optimization.

• Proven history of delivering features to production and managing them post-release.

• Capability to leverage product data for informed decisions on what to build, maintain, or revert.

• Proficient in documenting decisions and providing updates asynchronously to distributed teams in Product Management, UX, and Data.

• Ability to organize tasks, seek and implement feedback, and collaborate inclusively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.

• Preferred but not mandatory: experience with Vue.js, PostgreSQL, A/B testing, feature flags, experimentation frameworks, or SaaS sign-up, trial, billing, or checkout processes.
