
Integration Lead – Microsoft Azure Fabric

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the design, development, and implementation of enterprise data integration solutions tailored for Higher Education institutions.
• Direct integration architecture and execution utilizing Microsoft Fabric and Azure integration technologies.
• Conduct client workshops addressing business processes, data flows, systems, integration needs, security requirements, and operational dependencies.
• Convert functional and business requirements into comprehensive technical integration designs.
• Create integration patterns that include batch, near-real-time, event-driven, API-based, and file-based methods.
• Connect Advancement platforms with enterprise systems such as Salesforce Education Cloud, Ellucian Advance, Blackbaud, Workday, PeopleSoft, and data warehouses.
• Define canonical data structures, transformation rules, mappings, interface specifications, and data contracts.
• Develop reusable integration frameworks, templates, logging standards, error-handling methods, monitoring strategies, and deployment processes.
• Diagnose complex data and integration challenges across source and target platforms.
• Lead technical design evaluations and mentor integration developers and data engineers.
• Establish deployment and release-management practices for Dev/Test/QA/Production environments.
• Assist with data reconciliation, validation, exception management, and operational monitoring.
• Collaborate with Data Migration, Data Governance, CRM, Analytics, and functional teams.
• Identify technical risks, dependencies, performance issues, and opportunities for modernization.
• Develop integration roadmaps for future states.
• Provide technical estimates and assist in project planning, solution development, and pre-sales efforts.
• Mentor technical consultants and developers to establish delivery standards.
• Over 7 years of professional experience in data integration, application integration, data engineering, or enterprise technology consulting.
• At least 4 years of experience with Microsoft Azure data and integration technologies.
• A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric is strongly preferred.
• More than 3 years of experience leading technical teams, integration workstreams, or enterprise integration projects.
• Experience in Higher Education / Advancement, ideally in roles supporting Advancement, fundraising, alumni relations, or constituent engagement.
• Strong practical experience with Microsoft Fabric and/or Microsoft Azure data and integration services.
• Advanced proficiency with Fabric Data Factory and/or Azure Data Factory.
• Solid understanding of Microsoft Fabric architecture, encompassing OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, pipelines, notebooks, semantic models, and Power BI integration.
• Familiarity with REST APIs, SOAP services, JSON, XML, CSV/file integrations, SFTP, Webhooks, OAuth 2.0, service principals, and managed identities.
• Advanced SQL skills coupled with experience in relational databases and cloud data platforms.
• Experience in designing batch, API, and asynchronous integrations.
• Proven ability to cultivate trusted advisor relationships with clients.
• Experience in supporting sales and business development initiatives.
• Willingness to travel occasionally based on business and client requirements.
• Relevant Microsoft certifications, including Fabric Data Engineer Associate, Azure Data Engineer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Developer Associate, Power BI Data Analyst Associate, or other applicable Microsoft Applied Skills credentials.
