Instructional Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Mentor and nurture teachers and paraprofessionals to become confident, highly effective professionals.

• Track student engagement, progress, retention, and intervention metrics.

• Observe teaching practices and offer clear, actionable coaching.

• Lead the execution of instruction, student engagement, progress monitoring, and planning for interventions.

• Establish expectations, coach performance, celebrate achievements, and cultivate a culture of ownership, collaboration, and service.

• Serve students, families, and colleagues with professionalism, integrity, humility, and a meticulous approach.

• Conduct regular one-on-one coaching sessions focusing on teacher development, student outcomes, and accountability.

• Observe live teaching and assess outreach methods.

• Monitor instructional quality, student progress, the effectiveness of interventions, and communication practices.

• Ensure adherence to service-level expectations regarding responsiveness, grading turnaround, communication quality, and documentation standards.

• Collaborate with students and families during escalations to address concerns and restore trust.

• Create performance improvement plans when expectations are unmet.

• Facilitate team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.

• Develop and refine systems, playbooks, checklists, and operational tools.

• Assist in the recruitment and selection of educators.

• Support proctoring during testing periods, which may involve occasional travel.

• Perform additional duties as necessary to further the mission.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education or a related field (required).

• Teacher certification and completion of an approved teacher preparation program (required).

• Ability to obtain certifications in Arizona, Colorado, Washington, and other assigned states (required).

• Over 5 years of successful experience in education, educational technology, or a related field (required).

• More than 5 years of successful experience serving students, families, customers, or other stakeholders in a service-focused environment (required).

• At least 3 years of experience in a management role (required).

• Capability to pass all necessary background checks (required).

• Outstanding interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to handle difficult conversations with empathy, professionalism, and conviction.

• Strong instructional leadership and coaching abilities.

• Excellent judgment in handling student, family, instructional, and personnel escalations.

• High levels of ownership, self-motivation, discipline, and accountability.

• Ability to juggle multiple priorities, adhere to deadlines, and manage direct reports in a fast-paced environment.

• Exceptional organizational skills, time management, attention to detail, and capacity to manage competing priorities.

• Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with remote teams.

• Proficiency in Mac OS, Google Workspace, learning management systems, and task management tools such as Asana.

• Willingness and ability to travel to designated testing sites for proctoring.

• Fixed availability from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mountain Time, year-round.

• Minimum of 40 hours per week with focused, uninterrupted work during scheduled hours.

• A private, professional, distraction-free remote workspace with reliable high-speed internet.
