Instructional Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Identify gaps in performance, skills, knowledge, information, and attitudes of specific target groups.

• Develop, select, and/or recommend learning experiences to bridge the identified gaps.

• Design and implement knowledge transfer initiatives for the US Navy (Office of Naval Research).

• Create, execute, and uphold standard operating procedures along with comprehensive documentation.

• Design and produce online course content that aligns with organizational goals and meets learner needs.

• Ensure courses are accessible and engaging for all participants.

• Develop presentations, instructional videos, and interactive activities.

• Collaborate with subject matter experts, educators, and relevant stakeholders.

• Evaluate the effectiveness of learning and training materials through feedback collection and data analysis.

• Continuously enhance materials to optimize learning outcomes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in education or a related field.

• 4+ years of experience in teaching, training, or web design.

• Demonstrated experience in technical writing for software documentation.

• Familiarity with design and learning software (such as Adobe, Photoshop, Flash, etc.).

• Exceptional communication and graphic design capabilities.

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.

• Basic understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and software development processes.

• Ability to effectively function in remote or hybrid team settings.

• Possess a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) or the ability to obtain one.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Capability to produce high-quality documentation with a keen attention to detail.

• Ability to quickly understand complex technical concepts and convey them clearly in both text and visuals.

• Proficient in writing in explanatory and procedural formats for diverse audiences.

• Strong prioritization and multi-tasking abilities.
