Inside Claims Representative I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Manage liability and property claims within the assigned authority under close supervision.

• Address coverage and liability concerns in alignment with relevant state insurance laws, regulations, and protocols.

• Investigate and adjudicate claims while confirming coverage and establishing and maintaining reserves.

• Secure recorded statements and draft/process correspondence, reports, and records.

• Gather additional information to assess liability.

• Document claim files and assist in claim processing with other departments.

• Engage outside experts as necessary for investigation and potential recovery.

• Establish communication with all parties involved in the claims process.

• Evaluate and negotiate claims, identify subrogation opportunities, and take appropriate action.

• Set up and/or issue settlement payments or decline payment within the designated authority.

• Address inquiries from policyholders, agents, insurance carriers, claimants, assigned experts, and others.

• Respond to intercompany arbitration applications with supervisor guidance and submit contentions and supporting documentation.

• Conduct research and participate in industry-related training programs and other educational opportunities.

• Provide assistance for property claims during peak volume periods.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or GED along with two years of relevant claims handling or customer service experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

• A Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree is preferred.

• Required to obtain all necessary state licenses within 45 days for external applicants and 90 days for internal applicants.

• Successful completion of Introduction to Insurance (INTRO) and Introduction to Claims (AIC 30) is preferred.

• Must have access to internet service with minimum speeds of 50 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload.

• Primary availability from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, Eastern Time.

• Willingness to work rotating weekday evening and Saturday shifts as needed based on business operations and service-level requirements.

• Regular and predictable attendance is essential.

• Ability to utilize computers and frequently perform manual keying/data entry.

• Knowledge of liability laws, motor vehicle codes, no-fault/medical management/FPB laws, and bodily injury claims must be learned and maintained.
