Ingeniero de Seguridad – Firewalls

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Administer, configure, and maintain next-generation firewalls, SD-WAN solutions, and associated technologies.

• Oversee the daily operation of security services, service levels, requests, and incidents.

• Analyze, monitor, and manage network security events and incidents, remote access, and perimeter protection.

• Conduct advanced troubleshooting of complex connectivity, performance, and security incidents.

• Evaluate, design, and implement changes in configurations, rules, and security policies.

• Study, validate, and integrate new security solutions and functionalities.

• Manage and optimize VPNs, NAT, traffic filtering, segmentation, application inspection, and access control.

• Handle SD-WAN environments and optimize routing policies and secure connectivity between sites and the cloud.

• Monitor platforms using monitoring tools, traffic analysis, and alert generation.

• Collaborate on deployments, migrations, updates, and improvements of perimeter security infrastructures.

• Develop and maintain technical documentation of architectures, configurations, procedures, and standards.

• Analyze threats, vulnerabilities, and vendor updates, proposing mitigations.

• Participate in security policy reviews and ensure alignment with business, regulatory, and cybersecurity requirements.

• Work with internal teams and clients on continuous improvement, technical audits, and optimization of managed services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of advanced administration, operation, and support of firewall and perimeter security platforms.

• Solid knowledge of LAN and WAN networks, communication architectures, and TCP/IP protocols.

• Experience with SD-WAN technologies and dynamic routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP, or equivalents.

• Familiarity with security policies, access controls, VPNs, NAT, and network segmentation.

• Knowledge of Proxy solutions and technologies for secure access and browsing.

• Analytical skills to investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex production issues.

• Ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously and adapt to dynamic technological environments.

• Proficient in English at B2 level or higher.

• Certifications from Fortinet, Check Point, Palo Alto Networks, or equivalents will be valued.

• Certifications in Proxy and Secure Web Gateway such as Zscaler, Netskope, or Forcepoint will be valued.

• Experience with hybrid and multicloud perimeter security architectures will be valued.

• Knowledge of web application protection and Imperva will be valued.

• Academic training or certifications in cybersecurity, network security, or related disciplines will be valued.

• Experience in SOC, MSSP, or cybersecurity operation centers will be valued.

• Knowledge of traffic analysis, monitoring, log management, and incident response will be valued.

• Experience in technological evolution, migration, or consolidation of network and security infrastructures will be valued.
