Infrastructure Engineer, Enterprise AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and manage infrastructure for applications created by employees, encompassing deployment environments, hosting, databases, networking, and access controls.

• Evaluate and implement suitable hosting and development platforms in collaboration with platform engineering, security, data, and business teams.

• Create consistent deployment pathways for transitioning applications from local prototypes to secure and dependable cloud environments.

• Establish and maintain integrations with Slack, Gmail, Google Sheets, Salesforce, Looker, BigQuery, and various other business systems.

• Design and execute Git and GitHub version control processes for review, tracking, maintenance, and rollback.

• Develop reusable infrastructure patterns and automation utilizing infrastructure as code where applicable.

• Build secure application-hosting foundations, incorporating identity, secrets management, environment separation, data access, backups, monitoring, and incident response.

• Assist teams with application deployment and operation from initial setup through launch and continuous support.

• Tailor the platform to meet employee needs by simplifying complexity, promoting self-service, and clearly explaining technical procedures.

• Offer responsive and patient support to builders with diverse technical backgrounds.

• Collect user feedback to enhance platform workflows, documentation, examples, and support.

• Document architecture, deployment protocols, integration patterns, operational responsibilities, and maintenance expectations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in building or managing cloud infrastructure and application deployment environments, preferably on Google Cloud Platform or another leading cloud service.

• Strong knowledge of application hosting, networking, databases, identity and access management, and production operations.

• Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git and GitHub, and workflows related to code review, releases, and rollbacks.

• Experience in automating infrastructure and deployments using tools such as Terraform and CI/CD systems.

• Proficient in integrating applications with APIs and business systems.

• Practical knowledge of authentication, authorization, and secret storage.

• Customer-centric approach to infrastructure.

• Capacity to make complex technical processes comprehensible to users who may not be professional software engineers.

• Strong skills in troubleshooting, communication, and documentation.

• Good judgment in balancing speed, simplicity, security, reliability, and cost.

• Experience in creating platforms or paved paths for internal developers, citizen developers, or low-code/no-code teams.

• Familiarity with Vercel or similar application hosting and development platforms.

• Experience with platforms like Superblocks, Lovable, or other AI-assisted app-building tools.

• Knowledge of AI-enabled software development workflows and the infrastructure necessary to implement generated code into supported applications.

• Experience with Okta, Google Workspace, Slack, or integrations across enterprise productivity systems.

• Background in supporting applications that manage sensitive data or necessitate stringent access controls.
