Information System Security Officer – ISSO

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop, implement, and oversee all aspects of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) for designated systems.

• Aid in the creation and upkeep of security documentation, which includes System Security Plans (SSPs), Security Assessment Reports (SARs), and Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms).

• Collaborate closely with the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) to fulfill assigned duties and responsibilities.

• Partner with system owners, stakeholders, and other security professionals.

• Offer security advice and training to system users.

• Prepare and deliver security presentations to management.

• Ensure adherence to Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Navy (DoN) cybersecurity regulations.

• Maintain relevant policy and procedural documents to ensure they are current and accessible to authorized personnel.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess an active DoD Secret clearance.

• At least 3 years of experience as an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) within a DoD context.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline (applicable experience may substitute for educational qualifications).

• DoD 8570 IAM Level I certification is preferred.

• Comprehensive understanding of the RMF and NIST 800-53 security controls.

• Familiarity with security assessment tools and methodologies.

• Exceptional written and oral communication abilities.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.

• Experience with NMCI is advantageous.
