Information Security System Specialist – ATO Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Prepare and manage authority to operate (ATO) packages in accordance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF).

• Document security controls and collect evidence for those controls.

• Assist with ongoing monitoring and track remediation efforts.

• Provide support for Zero Trust data security governance as required.

• Work part-time on the proposed Department of Veterans Affairs support contract.

• Occasional travel to Washington, DC may be necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.

• Ability to secure and maintain a VA Tier 1 / Low Risk background investigation.

• Completion of VA privacy and security training is required.

• A Bachelor's degree is necessary.

• At least 8 years of experience in information security, including work related to assessment and authorization.

• Experience as a VA ATO lead is preferred.

• Familiarity with eMASS is preferred.

• Possession of CISSP or CISM certification is preferred.
