This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +26 more states.
• Collaborate with business partners on intricate topics to identify business requirements and reporting needs.
• Analyze and extract data to enhance revenue, minimize costs, and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Coordinate analysts and oversee technical initiatives to achieve targeted objectives.
• Create, develop, document, maintain, and review detailed ad hoc data extraction reports and analyses for Underwriting management.
• Conduct peer reviews within the department and across the organization.
• Evaluate peer review methodologies and work together on process enhancements.
• Suggest and assess improvements to operational databases, data integrity, and efficiency.
• Plan and implement changes while training team members accordingly.
• Test and document outcomes in line with departmental standards.
• Examine work for thoroughness and establish documentation standards.
• Design dashboards to facilitate the communication of essential data metrics and trends.
• Investigate and resolve complex issues, evaluate alternatives, and execute solutions.
• Identify, analyze, and investigate discrepancies found during peer reviews.
• Assess new processes and oversee cross-departmental efforts to implement solutions.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Health Care Administration, or a related field, or 4 years of relevant work experience.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a data analytics and/or reporting capacity.
• Proficiency in SQL, Excel, Python, and Access.
• Familiarity with business intelligence and analytics tools like Tableau or Power BI.
• Comprehensive knowledge of a reporting or query programming language, relational databases, and/or associated software packages.
• Extensive experience in data management and technical documentation.
• Strong skills in problem definition, problem solving, and technical writing.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage with management across all levels.
• Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
• Ability to lead teams to achieve specific project objectives.
• In-depth knowledge of the healthcare sector and the healthcare industry.
• Understanding of health insurance concepts and terminology.
• Proficient in keyboarding and capable of clear communication both in person and over the phone.
