Independent Quantitative Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hong Kong.

📋 Description

• Generate actionable trade and investment strategies grounded in statistically validated signals and market insights.

• Perform research on factors, risk premia, and alpha generation.

• Construct event-driven and catalyst frameworks that encompass earnings reports, guidance updates, corporate actions, index alterations, and macroeconomic data.

• Examine cross-asset correlations and market conditions, focusing on risk-on/off sentiment, inflation impacts, rate sensitivities, liquidity, positioning, and capital flows.

• Develop and uphold distinct proprietary datasets and analytical models.

• Share published insights and engage in live discussions with institutional clients.

• Provide personalized service to select institutional clients.

⛳️ Requirements

• Previous or current experience as a systematic trader or quantitative researcher/analyst.

• Proficiency in systematic strategies across equities, equity derivatives, and multi-asset products, including listed and OTC options and futures.

• Strong adherence to research standards: signal identification, feature engineering, thorough backtesting across various timeframes, consideration of realistic frictions, and clear validation processes.

• Capability to merge market intuition with statistical analysis.

• Experience in creating and maintaining unique proprietary datasets and models.

• Familiarity with data gathering, cleaning, normalization, mapping, signal construction, and production workflows.

• Excellent writing and communication abilities.

• Skill in articulating and defending research perspectives effectively in published insights and discussions with institutional clients.

• Extensive research, trading, or investment background with institutional clients (8+ years).

• Proven quantitative track record and evidence of original work, including datasets, models, tools, and strategy research.

• Ability to produce unique insights for professional investors that are structured, concise, and defensible.
