In-Home Hospice & Euthanasia Veterinarian, DVM

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Deliver in-home pet hospice, palliative care, quality-of-life support, pain and symptom management, and compassionate euthanasia services within the designated service area.

• Travel independently to scheduled appointments in a mobile veterinary care setting.

• Conduct physical examinations, clinical assessments, medication administration, sedation, euthanasia, and other veterinary services within the scope of practice and applicable regulations.

• Educate and support pet families in making quality-of-life decisions, exploring end-of-life care options, euthanasia, and aftercare.

• Keep precise veterinary medical records and clinical documentation.

• Communicate effectively with pet families, veterinary medical teams, scheduling, operations, support, and referring veterinary practices.

• Safely handle, position, and assist with the movement of companion animals.

• Uphold clinical independence, sound medical judgment, professionalism, and reliability in the field.

• Exhibit compassion, dignity, and respect in interactions with patients, families, colleagues, and veterinary partners.

⛳️ Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), Veterinary Medical Doctor (VMD), BVMS, or an equivalent veterinary medical degree from an accredited or qualifying veterinary program.

• Must hold, or be eligible to obtain, an active veterinary license in the state(s) where services will be rendered.

• Possess a valid U.S. driver's license.

• Ability to safely travel between scheduled in-home veterinary visits.

• Comfortable working independently as a mobile veterinarian.

• Capable of communicating with empathy and professionalism during discussions related to pet hospice, quality-of-life, and end-of-life scenarios.

• Availability for rotational weekend scheduling.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted and assist with weights up to 100 pounds, with reasonable accommodations as applicable.

• Competent in performing physical and logistical tasks in various residential environments.

• Successful completion of necessary background and motor vehicle record checks after hire and prior to the scheduled start date.
