HR Security Specialist, Workday

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Define and uphold the Workday security strategy, principles, and access frameworks.

• Create role-based access and data protection guidelines.

• Offer subject-matter expertise in Workday security across domains, business process security, security groups, and sensitive data access.

• Assess and authorize designs and modifications related to Workday security.

• Develop and implement HR security policies and standards for Workday and associated systems.

• Establish control requirements for security, access provisioning, approvals, and monitoring.

• Ensure the application of security controls across various regions and business units.

• Lead audit and compliance initiatives for HR applications, including SOX, internal audits, and regulatory assessments.

• Evaluate audit findings and formulate remediation strategies.

• Maintain control narratives, evidence requirements, and audit documentation.

• Define and manage governance for the Joiner, Mover, and Leaver access lifecycle.

• Set up periodic access review and recertification processes.

• Review exception requests and risk acceptance related to Workday access.

• Collaborate with the CIO, HR COE, IAM, and Compliance teams to translate security strategies into configurations and ensure Workday serves as the authoritative source for identity and access decisions.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information security, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Human Resources, or a related discipline.

• At least 5 years of experience in data security and privacy management, ideally within Workday or similar HR systems/tools.

• Comprehensive understanding of Workday security concepts, including domains, business process security, security groups, and sensitive data access.

• Experience in governance, risk, and audit-driven environments.

• Familiarity with security technologies, strategies, policies, and automated security access tools.

• Skilled in conducting risk assessments and developing strategies for risk mitigation.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.

• Capability to collaborate effectively with HR, IT, and other departments.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Proficient in interacting with departments and presenting reports to senior management.
