HPC Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Bulgaria.

📋 Description

• Assist in the deployment, configuration, and upkeep of InfiniBand and Ethernet network infrastructure.

• Aid in diagnosing network problems, such as connectivity issues, latency, and performance declines.

• Oversee network health and performance using standard monitoring tools and help pinpoint bottlenecks.

• Collaborate with InfiniBand switches, HCAs, and subnet managers under the mentorship of senior engineers.

• Support the management and troubleshooting of Fortinet solutions, including FortiGate, VPNs, and firewall configurations.

• Contribute to the implementation of network configurations, routing, and segmentation strategies.

• Work alongside compute and storage teams to facilitate HPC and AI workloads.

• Engage in incident response and operational support efforts.

• Help document network configurations and operational procedures.

• Acquire knowledge of automation tools and practices, such as Ansible and scripting.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in networking, systems engineering, or infrastructure roles.

• Fundamental understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, and VLANs.

• Familiarity with Linux operating systems and command-line utilities.

• Experience with data center networking or distributed systems environments.

• Strong eagerness to learn and develop proficiency in InfiniBand and HPC networking.

• Exposure to InfiniBand or concepts related to high-performance networking.

• Knowledge of Fortinet or other firewall technologies.

• Basic scripting abilities, such as in Bash or Python.

• Understanding of monitoring tools and troubleshooting techniques.
