This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Perform independent investigations of discrimination cases throughout the State of Florida.
• Collect and accurately document information through interviews and correspondence with involved parties.
• Conduct research and gather facts related to assigned complaints.
• Evaluate evidence and supporting documentation.
• Create precise and thorough investigative reports within designated statutory timeframes.
• Testify and appear before Commission panels, in civil court, and at administrative hearings.
• Provide investigative findings and recommendations to support legally sound decisions and compliance with civil rights legislation.
• Familiarity with fundamental investigation techniques, rules of evidence, court processes, and requirements.
• Proficient in employing logic and reasoning.
• Experienced in using active listening skills.
• Capable of conducting fact-finding interviews and gathering statements.
• Ability to apply deductive reasoning.
• Skilled in analyzing information and assessing its validity.
• Competent in writing accurate investigative reports and delivering detailed verbal presentations.
• Ability to uphold strict confidentiality.
• Capable of making independent decisions.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to build and maintain constructive working relationships.
• Five years of experience in legal or paralegal roles, investigative work, human relations, human resources, regulatory inspections, social work, education, counseling, affirmative action, equal employment opportunity, or juvenile/adult criminal justice; alternatively, a bachelor’s degree with one year of relevant experience.
• Successful completion of a Level Two background screening, including fingerprinting, is required as a condition of employment.
• Male applicants born on or after October 1, 1962, must meet Selective Service registration or exemption requirements.
