This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Deliver targeted course content in a virtual setting
• Provide instruction, support, and guidance tailored to students' individual IEP requirements
• Oversee the learning process and ensure the delivery of special education and related services as specified by the IEP team
• Communicate with parents and related service personnel regarding student therapies
• Create compliant IEPs, progress reports, and necessary special education documentation
• Facilitate and lead collaborative meetings for special education, including annual IEP meetings
• Implement accommodations and modifications utilizing assistive technology, supplemental curriculum, and accessible texts
• Adjust Stride K12 lessons and assessments in alignment with IEP specifications
• Promote inclusion and student success within the general education environment
• Gather data and work samples to track progress towards IEP objectives
• Document parent interactions and student interventions
• Analyze student data to recommend remediation and enrichment strategies
• Provide both synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences
• Maintain a grade book, uphold academic integrity, and make decisions regarding placement and promotion
• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments
• Build positive relationships with families and communicate promptly with students and learning coaches/parents
• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting
• Travel up to 20% for professional development, student assessments, and school-related requirements
• Bachelor's degree
• Active state teaching license
• Michigan Teaching Certification is mandatory
• Special Education endorsement is necessary
• Capability to pass required background checks
• Ability to collaborate with other teachers to interpret and create numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data
• Proficient in using student data to inform instructional decisions
• Open to regular coaching from administrators
• Willingness to embrace change and adapt to ensure outstanding student outcomes
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities
• Capacity to work independently, typically over 40 hours per week
• Ability to maintain a professional home office free of distractions during work hours
• Residents of all 50 states and Washington, D.C. are eligible; out-of-state applicants must possess a Michigan teaching certification
